Wild Fishy Designs is dedicated to environmentally friendly and socially conscious designs. All of our materials are sourced from local stores and are hand selected for their quality and beauty. The sea glass used in the pendant necklaces is all hand collected by Kris and Dave from beaches around Lake Michigan. The glass is washed and sorted prior to being used in any jewelry. Wild Fishy Designs does not use ANY materials from China. We are also capable of filling large orders for retailers, bridal parties, and any other special occasion, just contact us through the button on the left.
The sea glass in each pendant began its life about 100 to 150 years ago as a variety of manufactured glass objects. Everything from beverage bottles to fishing floats to glass orb fire extinguishers was dumped into the lake. Over decades the sand and waves of the lake has tumbled and polished each piece into a sparkling “jewel.” Unlike artificially tumbled “beach” or “sea glass,” our natural sea glass has a vibrant colorful luminescence that just cannot be manufactured in a glass plant. We hand harvest a years worth of glass at a time by scouring beaches and wading into the surf. By purchasing a sea glass pendant necklace, you are helping to clean beaches and supporting local artists. In return, you get an entirely original, one-of-a-kind, hand crafted accessory that will draw compliments wherever you go!
While we hand craft each necklace and do not use any components or materials from China, our prices are still competitive with the imported Chinese mass-market jewelry found at any local “big-box” store.
